Tellison announce new album ‘Hope Fading Nightly’, and more

By Ben Tipple

Big news from the Tellison camp this morning. Not only have the band announced the release of their new album, ‘Hope Fading Nightly’, the East London four-piece have also unveiled new single ‘Boy’, as well as a forthcoming UK tour.

‘Hope Fading Nightly’ will be available from the 18th September via Alcopop! Records.

The lead track, ‘Boy’, will be released on Instax instant photographs mounted on Tellison postcards, complete with a link to a free download. According to the press release, the band are looking to capture the song’s sense of nostalgia and impermanence, with each mounted photograph proving unique.

“The main theme is evidently thinking about the things you did when you were younger – what meant the most to you, how important those things felt – and how you feel about those in retrospect,” explains guitarist and songwriter Peter Phillips.

“In this case, I looked at a relationship that busted me good. I’m sure you guys will have had the same experience – where you’re pretty sure you’re like “this is it” and it turns out that it definitely wasn’t it. Those things affect you for sure; so the question I asked myself when writing this was how relevant that should still be to my life now?”
