The Benjamins call it a day

By

Drive Thru’s pop punk / emo / rock outfit The Benjamins have decided to split after only three years and one full length release. Citing the old “musical differences, friends…” line, the band are set to play a couple more shows at the end of the month, then wind it all up by February.

The post to the official site (www.benjaminsrock.com) is as follows:

Hey kids…
I was hoping I’d never have to write this note to you,
but shit happens. There were rumours going around that our band broke up recently, and we denied them. They weren’t true. We were taking some time off to write new music and chill out. The more we thought about it, however, the more we realized that the four of us aren’t on the same page, and haven’t been for a long time. We all have different visions of where this band should be and what this band should do, and it’s better that we break up now than let this stuff tear us apart as friends. We’re gonna play the Rave show on the 28th, we’re gonna play a benefit show in Milwaukee at the end of December (details to come on Nov. 29th), and we’re gonna plan one last final huzzah, a big farewell show in Milwaukee in January or February featuring all of our friends’ bands, super good deals on t-shirts, and tons of fun. A big hug and huge thanks go out to ALL of you…anybody who’s cam! e to a show, listened to our music, met us, bought something…basically thank you to all of you that ever gave a shit about us four chubby drunks from Milwaukee. We have lots of great memories, and we’ll see you all sooner, if not later. As always, e-mail me at Ben@BenjaminsRock.com for anything. Take it sleazy…

xoxoxo
