Typing the word “concert” feels odd. But then again, “gig” doesn’t quite sum up the Titus Andronicus experience, not least when their latest opus ‘The Most Lamentable Tragedy’ is a rock opera.
The almost forty-five minute live extravaganza is now available to view in full, celebrating the release of the accompanying live album ‘S+@DIUM ROCK: FIVE NIGHTS AT THE OPERA’.
Edited by Christopher Elia and recorded alongside Jeremy Aquilino, the clip demonstrates their blend of the raucous and experimental. It’s an atmosphere about which vocalist Patrick Stickles has something to say. “Though there is one scene that depicts the act of ‘crowd surfing,’ +@ does not encourage or condone such reckless behaviour at our concerts,” he interjects. “It infringes upon the rights of those who do not consent to getting kicked in the head – people can get hurt that way. The dance floor should be a safe and respectful environment for all, and violent, aggressive behaviour has no place in a progressive gathering of true punks.”
‘S+@DIUM ROCK: FIVE NIGHTS AT THE OPERA’ is available now, and will be released on vinyl from the 9th September.
