From the Weezer mailout: “Both the “Video Capture Device” DVD and the Blue Album Deluxe Edition 2 CD set are both finally, truly nearing completion, after several unexpected delays, and are due by spring ’04 for sure. As soon as release dates are known thay will be mass-mailed out and posted on weezer.com. It’s possible that the 2 will actually share the same release date as well. Weezer has put in several weeks in the studio with Rick Rubin on Album 5 so far, and expects to go back in and work on a big additional pile of songs as well in the new year. Once the band’s holiday break is over, they will reconviene for new rehearsal sessions to tighten up the songs they plan on tackling in the second studio sessions, and then hit the studio running!”
