Winning Lostprophets song revealed for exclusive Vans Warped Tour UK performance

By Tom Aylott

Over the past fortnight, Lostprophets fans have been making the most of the unique opportunity to add to the band’s setlist at this weekend’s sold out Vans Warped Tour UK in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Fans have been voting for which of five rarely performed tracks they’d like to see performed, which we’ll be on hand to film for people to view afterwards.

The song options were ‘Lucky You’, ‘Darkest Blue’, ‘Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters and the Story of a Lonely Girl’, ‘A Million Miles’ and ‘Weapon’, and the winning song was ‘Darkest Blue’. It got 37% of the total vote, and a ‘A Million Miles’ was in second with 25%.

Frontman Ian Watkins said: “’Darkest Blue’ has always been a favourite from ‘The Betrayed’, and we’re glad our fans agree. We’re excited to play it for the first time in years and even more so because it has contributed to the growth of Teenage Cancer Trust.”

Check out the back story of the TCT involvement in LP’s set here, read our preview of the weekend here and text WARP to 70300 to donate £3 (plus your standard network rate) to Teenage Cancer Trust if you’re simply feeling charitable today!
