I’m Glad It’s You want to wake up in your skin

The United States is awash with emo. Believe us though, this isn’t a bad thing, especially with California’s I’m Glad It’s You pushing towards the front of the pack. With the mixture of sunshine, heartbreak and flesh-eating on their ‘June’ EP, the alternative love song, ‘Minor Acts Of Cannibalism’, grabs attention with lines such as “sometimes I wish I could wake up wearing your skin.”

It’s by no means doom and gloom though. The EP (available on vinyl too via Backpack Records) presents a hearty upbeat attitude to an otherwise morose genre. ‘June’ is confidently raw, hinting at even bigger things to come.
