Oathbreaker show their true majesty on ‘Being Able To Feel Nothing’

You will have noticed us talking about Oathbreaker a lot here recently. We a named ‘Rheia’ our Album of the Year in 2016, and it continues to amaze with every listen. After seeing them last week and the excitement of seeing them again this weekend, I wanted to highlight the track, ‘Being Able To Feel Nothing’.

It is the stand out track on the album, and shows the true majesty of Oathbreaker. While ‘Rheia’ is filled with an extreme dichotomy of light and shade, ‘Being Able To Feel Nothing’ brings the two elements together.

It was uncharted territory for the Belgian band; utilising Caro Tanghe’s ethereal singing voice over a treacle-thick wall of guitars. It was the first time I felt Oathbreaker were smashing down their own boundaries to do something unique. And contrary to the title, it makes me feel a lot of things.
