‘Black Everything’ was quite something, right? London’s Apologies, I Have None (completed with comma) 2014 EP presented a brooding masterpiece that waved goodbye to the pop-punk influences that dominated their debut full-length. On ‘Wraith’, the opening track from the band’s recent split with Australian counterparts Luca Brasi, Apologies certainly haven’t cheered up, and it’s great.
There’s an unsettling tension running throughout the track, launching with morose vocals that explode into a scream of “black everything” before the resigned chorus. “Fade away,” vocalist Josh Mckenzie repeatedly sings as the track unfolds, yet there’s no change of that happening with songs this good.
