Although only one man, Pacific Northwest pop-rock artist Isaiah Dominguez shares much in common with full-band outfits such as The Early November and Jimmy Eat World. There’s an infectious retrospective attitude in his sound, one that harks back to the mid 00s sound, so much so that the record even features, among a host of Seattle based guests, Gavin Phillips of Fueled By Ramen’s This Providence. As a singer-songwriter, Dominguez also manages to retain the intimacy, playing with subtlety as well as his more immediate sound, such as on ’16’.
The record itself is a reflection of Dominquez’s time in the area, and a celebration of all things Northwest. “My time spent in the Northwest around my friends, family, acquaintances, and strangers had not just molded me, but had in some way created this record, “Dominquez explains, “so I decided to re-title the EP ‘Evergreen State’ as a nod and giant ‘thank you’ to the people who have helped me achieve, dream, and believe.”
Dominguez recently teamed up with Idobi Radio, performing each of the EPs five-tracks proper acoustically. ‘Evergreen State’ will be available from Friday 5th February, and was recorded in Seattle at London Bridge Studios.
