We’ve got a treat for you today! A brand new track from Three Day Millionaires, check this out if you like Cancer Bats, The Bronx and Thrice. The song, ‘Behind These Eyes’, is from their upcoming self-titled EP which is out in July. We had a chat to Danny who had this to say about the song.
“The single itself is one of the first songs we wrote as band. As soon as Nick wrote that guitar line for the chorus we knew we had a winner. Lyrically the song is about how lack of belief turns into lack of sleep and how sometimes we can get caught in a cycle or the suction of life. We’re surrounded by social media celebrities telling us what to wear, how to talk, what to eat, what to listen, how to be funny. Sometimes it makes what you’re doing (playing in bands) feel stupid, especially with everyone you went to school with is settling down, having kids and a wedding ring on.
Musically I think the is one of our more punk rock sounding songs. I think me and Nick were listening to a lot of Queens Of The Stone Age and Audioslave when we wrote it! It’s quite a short song too so it didn’t take long to write, originally we was going to use it as an intro to our set. It was only when I put vocals to it we realised we had a full song.”
