After ending 2013 with the re-release of their first two EPs in the form of ‘Coughing Up Confessions’, Cumbrian melodic punks Colt 45 are all set for 2014. Their recent signing to Visible Noise Records has added momentum to the release of their proper debut full-length.
Scheduled for release around May, the trio will once again be working with increasingly legendary producer Romesh Dodangoda whose catalogue includes the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Twin Atlantic and Kids In Glass Houses.
Their new material promises to add some light to their critical lyrical content. “We’re still pissed off, but nowadays we can see a little more light at the end of the tunnel,” guitarist Neil Harper comments.
Colt 45 will also be co-headlining with their label mates Blitz Kids in Carlisle on the 25th January, and Leeds on the 28th.
“This is our first proper album project,” drummer Adam Lewis remarks. “Last year’s EP re-release was great, it gave us a foundation to build from, and that’s exactly how we’re treating this new record. It’s a bit more grown up and most of the experiences influencing the new tracks have been shared by all 3 of us, so there’s a level of understanding and a combined idea of what we want going in to this process we haven’t had in quite the same way before…very exciting.”
To celebrate the release of their forthcoming record, we are exlusively hosting a short tour diary recorded in the latter half of 2013.
