Exclusive: Ocasan – ‘Whitey Two Step’

By Ben Tipple

Milton Keynes based trio Ocasan have been putting their uniquely British spin on the pop-rock genre since their formation in 2007, and the self-release of their debut album, ‘Ricochet’, in 2011.

The time since has been something of a mystery. In their own words, they have lived in abandoned stables, hippy communes and rock and roll pubs. Skinny dipped with Bulgarians in the Black sea. Smoked cigars, and drank champagne in hot tubs with millionaires in the Channel Islands. They’ve partied with Russian oligarchs in Moscow, and almost married Canadian groupies. Spent countless, lonely, boring hours driving the motorways from gig to gig, playing for anyone who would listen.

What we do now for sure is that following their (mis)adventures, the band shacked up with tireless producer Romesh Dodangoda to record their second full-length ‘Elixir’. Yet ever the ones to break convention, the band have opted to release the record via three EPs – the first of which appeared late last year in the form of ‘London Town’.

Ocasan are now set to release the second of the three parts on the 6th April, and we are premiering the video to the lead track, ‘Whitey Two Step’, below.

Ocasan will be heading on tour in support of their EP during April.
