First play of ‘Phantasmaboring’ by EXES

By Ben Tipple

Having already gathered a fair amount of attention with their debut track ‘Nations’, Brighton based EXES are set to take the bull by the horns with their impending full-length, ‘Phantasmaboring’.

Born from the ashes of Tropics, EXES continue the band member’s evolution into a math-rock behemoth. Rightfully citing Meet Me In St. Louis and Narrows as major influences, the four piece switch between unpredictable time signatures, ominous vocal slurs and visceral screams. There’s complexity in the dirty gooves, and a considered song structure that even bring British hardcore veterans such as Million Dead to mind.

‘Phantasmaboring’ is set to get pulses racing from the 28th July 2014. The LP is being released through the band, and will be available as a hand numbered limited run on vinyl, complete with a handmade sleeve and download.

Pre-orders for ‘Phantasmaboring’ are available now.

EXES will be playing Our Black Heart in Camden, London, on Wednesday 23rd July in support of the release. They will be joined by Broken DC and Death Rattles – featuring Maud of The JCQ.
