First play of the debut Purple album

By Ben Tipple

“All of our tracks are fairly different,” Texan trio Purple informed us back at the start of September as they revealed ‘Target’, one of ten tracks from their debut album ‘(409)’. Although their sound fuses a base level of recognisable genres together, namely riot grrrl-esque punk and thrash-pop, the album sways between brash in-your-face immediacy and the more considered indie infused offerings. Ultimately, ‘(409)’ is pulled together by Taylor Busby and Hanna Brewer’s distinctive dual vocals, brimming with a bolshie attitude.

‘(409)’ will be available via Play It Against Sam records on the 10th November 2014. You can stream the record in full ahead of its release via the SoundCloud player below.

Purple will be touring the UK shortly after the release, including a co-headline performance at The Shacklewell Arms following a sell-out performance at London’s Seabright Arms (with Broncho).
