Having released their debut full-length last year, Ontario pop-punks Seaway are gearing up to release their new EP next month. ‘All In My Head’ follows ‘Hoser’, scheduled for release on the the 3rd November via Pure Noise Records.
The EP sees the band continue their pop-punk onslaught, providing upbeat melodies that see them rival contemporaries such as Real Friends, Knuckle Puck and tour buddies Four Year Strong. Their unashamed traditionalist pop-punk prowess is evident on their latest track, ‘The Let Down’, available to stream exclusively via the SoundCloud player below.
“The Let Down was actually the first song we started writing after the release of ‘Hoser’,” the band explain. “It’s definitely a lot poppier than anything we’ve done in the past but it works well with the rest of the EP. It’s a really fun song to both play and listen to and in a word it’s really all about forgiveness.”
“We have all matured greatly as musicians and songwriters since ‘Hoser’ and we feel like that translates on ‘All In My Head’. We put a lot more planning and meticulous thought into these new songs before going into the studio to record making these the best songs we feel we’ve ever put out. ‘All In My Head’ is definitely a lot different than ‘Hoser’ but it’s a new direction that we’re excited to take and the sound of Seaway is still there.”
‘All In My Head’ sees the band push themselves forward. With some poppier edges, it’s the sound of a band more comfortable in themselves. “We’re all really happy with where we are right now as a band,” they exclaim celebratory. “We have worked very hard over the last couple of years and are now getting some great opportunities to do what we love. Very excited for the future of Seaway.”
Their forthcoming four-track EP is available to pre-order now via Pure Noise Records and Banquet Records.
Seaway also recently unveiled another track from ‘All In My Head’, entitled ‘Your Best Friend’. Watch the video below.
