First play of the new See You In Reno EP

By Ben Tipple

Essex based See You In Reno exploded onto the scene with the release of their debut ‘Check’ video, which saw them attract a range of national radio attention. Building on their success, the four-piece are gearing up to release their debut EP, ‘Masks’, on the 11th August.

Produced by Oz Craggs of Feed The Rhino, whose body of work includes Hildamay, Mallory Knox and Pay No Respect, See You In Reno offer schizophrenic British rock. There’s clear elements of the likes of Reuben with their Jamie Lenman-esque vocals, and an abundance of unexpected building blocks that hint at early Biffy Clyro, Hundred Reasons and even kings of quirk At The Drive-In.

Each track moves deliberately disjointedly through melody, screams and fractured shouts. Although the record’s foundations lie in melody, there’s consistent unanticipated switches that give ‘Masks’ that little something extra.
