First play of the new The Kendolls LP

By Ben Tipple

Hailing from the Swedish town of Gothenbury, The Kendolls blend their heavy take on hardcore punk with traditionalist vibes. On album opener, ‘Black Sunday’, they demonstrate their ability to perform both, following a tense build up that explodes into their rough and raw sound. The energy from here on in is relentless.

‘Autonomania’ is the band’s third full-length, and their first since acquiring new drummer Kenneth. “We are very excited to release ‘Autonomania’ and bring back raw power to the Benelux area together with White Russian Records,” the band announced upon their most recent signing. They will be releasing the record outside of Benelux via their own label, Byhala Records.

The record will be available in October, and showcases a new punk-heavy force that channels not only the likes of Gallows and Cancer Bats, but also more traditionalist punks and rock and roll stalwarts.

“We did a short tour in France and then went straight into the studio in Dec 14′,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Oskar. “The sessions were chaos but highly productive. 5 idiots running around all night with manic obsession, thinking we discovered water or something. Then we went playing shows in Europe and Scandinavia as many weekends as we could til we collapsed. That’s why the songs sound desperate and restless. Like mad rabid dogs. So I love the record because of that. Any band that say they don’t like their own records must be fucking terrible.”
