Get knocked out by the new Blacklisters live video

By Ben Tipple

Leeds based noisemakers Blacklisters know how to make a racket. In 2012 their self-titled (of sorts) record demonstrated their clear understanding of intricacy, packing a cleverly messy punch. “Noise rock has not sounded this refined and powerful in years,” we gushed on these very pages.

Now set to release their follow-up, ‘Adult’, Blacklisters show no signs of slowing down. This ferocity is evident in their live video for the excellent ‘I Knock Myself Out’, filmed by Anthologies in the band’s hometown.

“We recorded this live at Greenmount studio and the video is all one continuous shot of the same performance,” vocalist Billy Mason Wood explains. “Then we CGI’d all our clothes back on.”

“I knock myself out everyday staring at a photo of Steven Tyler’s magic face. It’s made out of an actual dolphin. His eyes are blow holes,” he adds, in the typical Blacklisters way.

‘Adult’ will be available from the 18th September 2015 via Smalltown America, home of the likes of Jetplane Landing, USA Nails, Axis Of and Carnivores. Blacklisters have a number of live dates scheduled where fans can check out their raucous performance.
