Listen to the dreamy ‘loverboy’ EP by oldsoul

By Ben Tipple

Hailing from Lowell, Massachusetts, oldsoul offer a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere on their debut EP. Written and recorded in flux, having survived a couple of line-up changes since forming in a year back, ‘loverboy’ balances the expansive sounds with moments of urgency, transforming from dream to nightmare in the blink of an eye.

“Before we began recording ‘loverboy’, I was a bit worried about how cohesive the four songs would be together as a whole; about whether the album would flow stylistically,” guitarist and co-vocalist Tom Stevens admits. “It’s an odd mix. Each track was written under different circumstances, in one case by an ex-member, and was altered and built upon many times. Listening to ‘loverboy’ now, I sense that it flows cohesively as a progression, each song presenting something unique and new.”

‘loverboy’ will be available from the 23rd October via Honest Face Records.
