Premiere of ‘Useless’ by Saturday’s Kids

By Ben Tipple

Just as Welsh post-punks Saturday’s Kids prepare to take on the world with their debut ‘The Lunatic’ LP, the time has come for their bright star to burn out. Set for release on the 14th July, ‘The Lunatic’ will be the first and final release by the noisy four-piece.

Formed in 2009 whilst band members Sion Thomas, Rhys Briggs, Jordan Everitt, and Dave Sandford (who you may recognise from Cardiff based Joanna Gruesome) were still in school, Saturday’s Kids have been honing their distorted, feisty post-punk ever since. The result is the Fugazi, Pissed Jeans and Sonic Youth inspired full-length.

‘Useless’, the first track to be taken from ‘The Lunatic’, is a shining example of their gritty, surf-infused understated punk – a track that hints at their explosive force but restrains itself to sound as calculated as it is fierce.

‘The Lunatic’ is available to pre-order via BandCamp.
