Stream the new Edward In Venice record

“We added some more melodies especially on vocals and guitars and we tried to get closer to a personal punk-rock sound,” say Italian hardcore punks Edward In Venice about the evolution to ‘Howler’. “It wasn’t a forced choice but it came out in a really natural way when we started to write.”

‘Howler’, featuring seven new tracks, follows the band’s previous releases ‘Muori’ in 2012, and last year’s ‘A Heart That Doesnโ€™t Bleed’. Working alongside White Russian Records and NoReason Records, it is likely to see the band spread their influence even further afield. Yet Edward In Venice still have their fingers firmly on the Italian punk pulse.

“The Italian scene is pretty good at the moment and we have a lot of friends bands like Actionmen, 4thN’Goal, Slander and others that are doing lot of good things lately,” Edward In Venice delve into their scene. “We’re also working with NoReason Records, one of the most active punk-rock labels in Italy, they bring lot of good foreign bands on tour here and booking loads of shows and fest for them.”

“I guess the Italian punk-rock scene is growing and growing during these last years, thanks to some good promoters and labels, and a pretty good distribution of venues around Italy who like to offer this kind of music to the crowd…maybe in some years it’ll be ready to compare to UK/Belgian/Netherland/Germany scene,” they ponder.

It’s not just Europe that Edward In Venice have their sights on. As they release ‘Howler’, the five-piece are heading out to Japan for the very first time. “We found a really good booking agency called Romatic Nobita Records that request us in Japan for a ten days tour, so we thought it would be the right time for a tour like this especially after the release of ‘Howler’.
They’re really nice guys that gonna help us with every single detail during this trip; also we’re releasing a Japanese limited edition with Milestone Sounds Rec.”

“We expect a lot of fun and maybe good feedback from new fans over there…also we’re really curios to see how the world works over there,” the band express, with evident excitement. “Tons of practice for sure after all,” they tell us when asked about preparation for international touring.

“We decided to not play shows between November and April, then we played a couple of good shows and a nice fest as our release party in Italy in this last month before this tour, to see how the crowd react to the new setlist. Honestly we found a pretty good response for now, then we’re ready to bring this new record as far as possible.”
