Stream the turbocharged ‘Hypermobility’ by Finnish rockers The Scenes

By Ben Tipple

Like The Hives before them, Finnish six-piece The Scenes pull together the foot-stomping elements of rock and roll and punk-inspired screams to create a turbocharged noise brimming with energetic attitude. Vocalist Konsta Koivisto commands the aprty titled ‘Hypermobility’ with a gritty confidence, an example of his multitude of influences.

“The track is all about neuroses,” says guitarist Miki Liukkonen. “The questions the album deals with are not easy, but we’ve tried to write it them into slogans, things people can almost chant.”

This anarchic sound, with matching calls-to-arms, forms part of their ‘Sex, Drugs & Modern Art’ LP – the title a stylistic indicator of the band themselves.

The Scenes will be touring across England and Scotland with Beasts in early April.
