Selfish Things – ‘8147 Mulholland Avenue’
I was having a dig through related artists on Spotify this week and came across this fantastic quintet from Ontario, Canada. Well thought out, anthemic, passionate rock music. Maybe, some plans to hit the UK this year?
Have Nots – ‘Louisville Slugger’
This Boston-based quartet play gruff punk rock, mixed with up-tempo ska. Unfortunately, they’ve not been active since 2016, but don’t let that put you off digging in to their back catalogue. Also, what’s better than a tune about a baseball bat?
Wood And Nails – ‘Resolutions’
Birmingham is turning out some really fantastic bands at the moment and melodic-punks Wood And Nails have joined that fold. If new single ‘Resolutions’ is a sign of what’s to come, things are looking very good!
Funeral Shakes – ‘Over You’
Funeral Shakes have burst on to the scene, creating a real buzz, and rightfully so. Featuring members of Nervus, Gallows and The Smoking Hearts, it’s understandable why they sound so good. They’re on tour in the UK very soon!
While She Sleeps – ‘Steal The Sun’
One of the crown jewels in UK Metal, these Sheffield-based gents head out for a string of shows through early February. Expect carnage, as usual!
The Menzingers – ‘Bad Catholics’
Off the back of last year’s ‘After The Party’, The Menzingers solidified themselves as one the best melodic punk bands in the world. They grace the UK, once again, in just over a week’s time. Get excited, and be quick with your tickets!
Worst Days Down – ‘A Song For David’
Canada is a real talent hotbed and Worst Days Down from Edmonton, Alberta, are another fantastic group to fly under that flag. ‘A Song For David’ is taken from 2017’s ‘Elsewhere’, out now through Gunner Records
Timeshares – ‘Anxious & Aspy’
Downstate New Yorkers, Timeshares, snuck out a four track EP ahead of last weekend. Another slice of fantastic melodic punk rock, following on from 2015’s ‘Already Dead’.
The Offenders – ‘Black Caesar’
These “Reggae Hooligans”, who hail from Italy, now residing in Berlin, have taken the mainland scene by storm. 2018 will see the band release their new record, ‘Heart Of Glass’ through Destiny Records. Expect much more continental touring this year.
We Were Sharks – ‘Ashley’
Remember when pop punk was fast? We Were Sharks will scratch that itch! The Canadian sextet are hitting the road all over Northern America over the next few months. Make sure to make a show.
