James Franco; star of 127 Hours, two Spider-Man incarnations and the highly underrated Spring Breakers, is an unlikely subject to inspire an atmospheric almost-scremo and somewhat emo Kent quartet. Queue the aptly named Cult Of Franco. Drawing influence from Death Cab For Cutie and Tiny Moving Parts, the Canterbury outfit deliver an unpredictable foray of guitar tones and cracked vocals that give their heroes a heavier, rawer edge.

Gearing up to release a new six track EP, Cult of Franco recorded the release live in studio, and are now streaming two tracks in video format. Both ‘J’ai Une Γ‚me Solitare’ and ‘We Will Remember It For You Wholesale’ appear in their new video.

“This video presents two-and-a-half tracks from our debut EP, which is full of the short, atmospheric sorts of songs you probably won’t want to listen to,” Cult of Franco offer as a reserved explanation. “For fans of being sad and Twin Peaks.”

“Sorry for wasting your time,” they add.
