“The new single feels like a real progression for us.” So explains singer-songwriter Josh Chandler Morris; half of Milton Keynes based folk duo, joined by Carly Slade. “It’s our first release as a duo and gives a truer representation of the rootsy sound we’ve been honing in our live show over the last year. We’ve been listening to a lot of American traditional music, blues, folk and country and I think those influences come through pretty clearly with the new release.”
“‘Who’s Gonna Hold Your Hand’ is a comment on the self-interested philosophies of modern life,” he goes on to say. “The new single tries to emphasise the importance of compassion and finding some greater meaning in our day to day lives.”
The result is a somewhat stunning acoustic folk number that occasionally channels Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue both in style and intensity.
