Watch the new ‘Red Handed’ video by Gloo

By Ben Tipple

Littlehampton duo Gloo (potentially minus the capitalisation) describe themselves as post apocalyptic punk. It fits. On ‘Red Handed’ – the second song they ever wrote – Gloo present a scuzz heavy layer over a post-punk sound; one that reeks of dusty wastelands and endless foreboding.

The eerily unsettling video, seemingly lifted from a low-budget horror movie, was self-recorded, directed and edited, in-keeping with the duo’s unfaltering DIY attitude. In it, the subject appears to be attempting to escape the encroaching monolithic soundscape.

“This song’s about getting caught with your trousers down,” the band offer as some explanation as the chorus barks “the truth is, the truth’s always gonna catch you.”

‘Red Handed’ is available to download now for free via SoundCloud, with live shows on the horizon following a healthy reception at The Great Escape in Brighton.
