Watch the new video from Runaway Kids

By Glen Bushell

If history has taught us anything, it is that the best music is born out raw personal angst. For LA punks Runaway Kids, this was the catalyst they needed to write the title track from their forthcoming ‘Better Days’ EP, which we are bringing you the premiere of the music video for today.

“‘Better Days’ started as a letter I was writing to my mom” explains vocalist Gage Armstrong. “letting her know how she had affected my life with the poor decisions that she decided to make for hers. Then when Sean (guitarist) and I decided it was time to go into the studio it was the only thing I could think of to put on our first song. As if I was finally getting what I needed to say off of my chest.”

Stylistically, Runaway Kids boast an honest vocal delivery coupled with infectious guitar hooks and melodies, and while it may be a world away from their past as hardcore band Betrayal, they still carry just as much intensity. ‘Better Days’ is released on June 23rd via Mediaskare Records, and was produced by Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Alkaline Trio), and features Randy Bradbury of Pennywise playing bass on the entire recording. Pre-orders for the EP are available now, and you can check the video for ‘Better Days’ out below.
