Brave Vultures is an escape. It offers the Essex four-piece a respite from the mundane everyday, on ‘With Me’ simultaneously celebrating the little moments that make life worthwhile among the usual struggles. It’s indicative of the remainder of their forthcoming debut EP, ‘I’m Not Coming Back If You’re Not There’, which avoids cliches to embrace the world as it is. It discusses love, anxiety and rehabilitation.
“I first wrote ‘With Me’ as an acoustic song in my room about a year ago,” vocalist Dom Littler explains. “The song is basically about a day in the life of me and Jess (my girlfriend). I take her to work, we always do a silly smile at each other before she has to leave, she comes home from work, we have some dinner, listen to some music etc.”
Yet these comforts sit within a world of difficulties. Mirroring their escapism, ‘With Me’ represents both sides of the coin. “The chorus is about my everyday insecurities,” Littler continues. “I never really finish anything I start and I always feel like I could be bettering myself as a person. It’s quite a personal song to me, and I also like the reference to the Turnover album ‘Peripheral Vision’, it’s one of our favourite albums.”
‘With Me’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming ‘I’m Not Coming Back If You’re Not There’ EP, due for release on the 16th September. For more on Brave Vultures head to Facebook and Twitter.
