Crushing Blows – Crushing Blows

By Andy

Two-piece CRUSHING BLOWS hail from Derbyshire and have launched themselves into this world with a four track EP that will help set their name in stone on the indie rock scene.

Tagging themselves as experimental, indie, pop-punk with psychedelic twist, it certainly shows. ‘Night Worker’ and ‘Don’t Sweat For Me’ are unusual, but well written. ‘Liberate Yourself’ and ‘Tie Them Down And Get The Answers’ (which was released as a single last year) are twisted enough to fit an Alice in Wonderland-style movie soundtrack – tunes that will make you feel as if you’re falling into your own pool of soul and funk. Comparable to such acts as Animal Collective and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, these inspirations mingle among the guitar twangs and the mellow drumming that surrounds you when you indulge your senses. ‘Crushing Blows‘ is a quirky and bizarre EP that these two fellas have created.
