Dropkick Murphys – B Sides, Covers, Comps and Other Crap

By

It comes to a time in certain bands careers where a Singles Collection Volume II is needed. These bands have dodged the pendulum of time, fought off the savage attacks of critics and press, stayed loyal to world wide fans, and somewhere, between all the drunken fights, sweat infested gigs and stinking, smokey tour buses, managed to right some half decent tunes.

So here come 23 of the Dropkick Murphy’s finest. One look in the art work for this album shows just how much the band have affected the music world in the last few years. So many labels mentioned, in so many countries, contributing to so many releases. Most of the tracks on this CD are tracks the band have used on various compilations or as b -sides, so to someone not so familiar with every single noise the band have ever made, this is a perfectly good excuse for hearing a stack of material you won’t have heard before. Along with the b-sides and “other crap” are one or two choice covers, including AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top,” Motorhead‘s “Rock n Roll” and Stiff Little Fingers’ “Nobody’s Hero.”

This CD is another typical Punk Rock onslaught from the seven – piece. If you’re a big fan of the band, then you’re gonna love this CD.
