Elena City – Romance Is…Pt1

By paul

Sing like you mean it. That’s the best advice I could give any singer really; reach down into your lungs and bellow it out. Someone really needs to tell Elena City vocalist Martin this, as his vocals tend to waft out harmlessly over a backdrop of really tepid music. They don’t really sound like anything, just a group of musicians writing basic songs alongside a singer who can’t really sing. The almost pathetic warbling in ‘Ellen’ – which is three minutes too long – made me want to switch this record off. It’s just really, really basic stuff to be honest. the vocals are poor because the singer can’t sing and to mask this fact he whispers and warbles so you can’t make out any of the words. The guitars are pretty basic, the drums not too bad, but the damage is not in the fact a hell of a lot of work needs to be done to improve – and fast.
