On the band’s myspace page they declare they are “The Best Thing To Happen To You Since Getting Laid”. I can guarantee they are not. FBC sound a little like Fightstar; it’s kind of emo rock without the whiny, nasally vocals and devoid of any harder bits or beatdowns. It’s a little bit MOR and that’s reflected in the score. The band aren’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, it’s just all a little ‘safe’, like they can’t be bothered to stretch away from their comfort zone. And I don’t mean to sound rude as they can clearly write a song and the vocalist is better than most, but there’s nothing here which leaps out of the speakers and floors me. It’s better than most of the local bands who play down at the local pub, but it’s not in the same league as those at the top of their genre. Ultimately this EP – and I’m not sure if it has an actual name or is just called EP – is more of the same from a bit of a flagging genre of music. You’ll find better, you’ll find worse.
