Forgotten Roots are a band from up Newcastle way and this is the second time I’ve reviewed them. The improvement since that release last year is hugely evident, so a big well done. The songs are well crafted and carefully put together, the riffs sit well and the choruses are catchy enough to remember. The band are darker than your average pop-punk band and I remember describing them as ‘Alkaline Trio-esque’ last time round, which still stands. I don’t have the song names to hand but I enjoyed the second track which was a strong all-rounder, and while I still think the band have a lot of work to do if they want to become a premier band, they’ve showed improvement on their last release and it is the kind of record I’d give another listen for pleasure, rather than reviewing purposes. A decent stab and well worth a listen.
