Maybe it’s me and I’m just in a bad mood but ‘The Sounds of Earth’ just sounds like a really generic hardcore band that take elements of bands such as Underoath and Isis and just give them a different slant. It’s hard and it’s heavy and I can see why some people would like them, but for me Hands just do what a lot of other people already do, just not as well. I know I’m not a huge fan of this type of music and so my knowledge is relatively limted, but ‘Mercy’, ‘Despair’ and ‘Communion’ are not only generic song titles but generic and obvious songs too. Check the band out to make up your own mind, maybe I’m wide of the mark, but this is sub-standard metalcore with very few redeeming features.
