In Liars We Trust – S/T

By paul

According to the band’s bio: “IN LIARS WE TRUST is our outlet to express how we feel about the current state of affairs through music. Our hope is to reach out and provoke thought about what is going on in todays world. In the process, hopefully we learn, educate, and come together with others who also see the need to help change our world to make it a better place for all people.”

And while there’s nothing wrong with having a message, if your music is bland and, well crap, the message is lost. And Rage Against the Machine this band are not. Infact most of the riffs here are borrowed – track 5 is an exact copy of a Tsunami Bomb riff and there’s an early song which ‘borrows’ the riff to Blink 182‘s ‘Pathetic’ – and the vocals are just shouted and abysmal. In really detracts from what the band are trying to say and ends up watering down their beliefs, to the point where I just don’t want to listen anymore. The recording is basic, the production and mixing poor…there’s very little here which makes me want to listen again.
