Fond of Life have a knack for picking up talented European acts that many UK residents have never heard of and M-Sixteen are another of that ilk. There’s a hint of A Wilhelm Scream in there, a little Strike Anywhere too. Vocally they are perhaps reminiscent of The Bronx. And while that heady concoction is fantastic in some places, it sounds awfully familiar in others. This album, as a result, is perhaps 3 or 4 songs too long. Ultimately they’re not as good as their influences but if you’re at a loose end and looking for something a little different – and previously unheard of – M-Sixteen are well worth checking out.
