Maycomb – EP

By paul

If you like your pop punk in the vein of Hit The Lights and Asteria then you will probably quite enjoy Maycomb. With a very Americanised sound (I can only assume the Brummie accent has changed since I last heard it) the band do a very solid impression of contemporary pop punk acts. They nail vocal harmonies, write catchy choruses and the production is just sweet enough to make this a lot of fun. It’s not quite to the singalong levels of the premier bands in this genre just yet, but ‘Transform and Roll Out’ and ‘The Anticipation’ are good, solid tunes that will help them establish a decent fanbase. And while there are still tricks to learn, Maycomb can be proud of their foundations which give them a good base to build on.
