Hailing from Evesham, OFFICER DOWN are old-school throwbacks, blasting out twelve tracks of fast, furious, rawer-than-a-dodgy-sausage hardcore punk on this, their second album.
Taking influence from crusty 80s punks THE EXPLOITED and more recently, Stza’s Crack Rock Steady crew, OFFICER DOWN may not be reinventing the wheel so much as recycling an extremely well-worn one, but they’ve created an authentic punk rock sound (with a little help from their friends THE INFESTED on ‘Left Behind’), full of frantic riffs, breakdowns and enough melody that it’s not just noise either.
Having shared stages with LEFTOVER CRACK and STRIKE ANYWHERE, OFFICER DOWN have compiled a solid punk record full of genuine emotion which stands up to the high standards set by their peers. A solid listen for any punk fan, and one that comes well recommended.
