On My Honor – Nature & Nurture

By Tom Aylott

ON MY HONOR are a five-piece pop-punk band from Knoxville, Tennessee who’ve been touring all around the US since their inception in 2007, having been part of the Warped Tour in 2009, sharing stages with THE ATARIS, HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS and THE SWELLERS along the way. They’ve also had their music played nationwide in Hot Topic stores (but don’t hold it against them).

‘Nature & Nurture’ is their first release on Little Heart Records but it’s got loads of heart – right from the opening line “what if these are the last words I ever get to say?” – it’s an EP crammed full of fist in the air, heart on the sleeve, sing-a-longs.

Musically, On My Honor are cut from the same cloth as SET YOUR GOALS, THE WONDER YEARS and FOUR YEAR STRONG – pop-punk with the occasional move borrowed from the hardcore playbook. They’ve delivered a fast-paced, anthemic punk-rock record steeped in sincerity and with a little bit more nurturing, ON MY HONOR could become one of your favourite bands. They’re self-releasing this EP on vinyl to fund a European tour in March 2012 – you know what to do.
