If you like The Stereo or a slightly more polished and slick ‘Four Minute Mile’-era The Get Up Kids you will almost certainly love Paper The Operator. This is a very quick-paced six track EP which features some fantastic vocal melodies and catchy songs. The fact this is over in the blink of an eye is arguably a blessing as it leaves you wanting more. ‘Salty and Sweat’ sounds like early Weezer minus the quirky bits, while ‘The Heart’s Hardest Part’ is several shades of awesome on so many levels; crunchy guitar riffs, fantastic harmonies and a really catchy chorus. It’s not far off the perfect guitar-pop song. But then you could say that about any of these songs as they’re all equally awesome. This is a little cracker of an EP and well worth checking out – you can stream it on their myspace and that’s the very least you should do.
