Phone Trio are usually a three-piece in the vein of New Found Glory and Descendents but have opted to record and release a free acoustic EP. As this is the first time I’ve come across the band it’s difficult to tell whether that’s an accurate list of influences as this record doesn’t really tally up – the tracks here are catchy and will make you singalong but if you don’t like acoustic material you, obviously, won’t dig this. I’d quite like to hear this band doing what they usually do, so I’d recommend that as a starting point you miss this release out. But if you like gentle, melodic acoustic stuff you could do a lot worse than to check this band out.
