Polar Bear Club – Clash Battle Guilt Pride

By Tom Aylott

Well, holy fuck; Polar Bear Club just have a knack for hitting the nail on the head, don’t they? New album ‘Clash Battle Guilt Pride’ is, by all accounts, one of 2011’s best Punk records, and though a little slower in general than previous efforts, it exudes more energy and passion than most bands will even manage in a career.

If you’ve liked the band before, there’s nothing here that’ll turn you off, and though a few may feel the record is just “more of the same” from the upstate New York troupe, it’s got the special something that makes you let it repeat and repeat for hours.

There’s a certain flow to the record, and from the powerful ‘Screams In Caves‘ to the introspect, Osker style punk of ‘My Best Days’, Polar Bear Club have managed to put out a record that’ll never fail to grab you by the balls.

If there’s any bone in your body that likes that gruff end of punk, then you’ll connect with ‘Clash Battle Guilt Pride’, and it’s a wonderful Autumn record to see out the rest of the year.
