Pumps – Pin In The Map

By Tom Aylott

PUMPS, featuring existing and ex-members of Crime in Stereo, Lugosi and Moving Targets, recently put out this four tracker, recorded and produced entirely by them (right down to the the album art), and considering the personel involved, it’ll be no surprise that you’re getting a slice of gruff and straight to the point Punk Rock.

Iron Chic fans should be fairly stoked about the band, and the EP is a great starting point for a band with buckets of potential to make waves. There’s absolutely no reason the band won’t go on to pick up attention over here and in the surroundings of their native Brooklyn, but it’s most definitely going to take another release or two (one on the way this October if you’re wondering) for the band to truly find their feet and dig themselves a niche.

By way of an introduction, there’s not much better you can get than a great sounding DIY EP with four well chosen tracks, and Pumps have done just that with ‘Pin In The Map‘, but don’ believe our word for it – go and get it for free at http://pumps.bandcamp.com/ and enjoy for yourself!
