Retroscopic – You’ll Like Us In Three Years

By paul

‘You’ll Like Us In Three Years’ is a bizarre name for an album if ever I’ve heard one. Yet it’s fairly apt. Retroscopic are well produced, but their ideas are a little bland and tired. At times a little Strung Out-esque punk rock – energetic and ballsy with a technical edge – all too often it falls into the cliched trap of screaming and schoolboy lyrics. And while the band are by no means bad, it’s just a case of all been heard before. That said, the execution is pretty good – while the vocals leave a little to be desired, technically the guitars and drums sound good. It’s just a shame the songs don’t quite match the band’s obvious individual talents.
