The Cape of Good Hope – Arts and Crafts

By paul

Another quickie review – The Cape… are an indie-rock bunch from Bromsgrove who write interesting and intriguing songs that may (or may not) be influenced by some of the early Deep Elm roster of bands. At times ‘Arts and Crafts’ reminds me of the Appleseed Cast; perhaps a little more experimental in places, such as the 12-minute long ‘The Idea’ which is easily the best thing on this EP as it switches and jolts through different styles and influences. Never really settling on convention, this six-tracker would fit nicely on a Jealous Records-type roster, so if you like the kind of bands in that ‘scene’, you’ll almost certainly enjoy this lot too.
