The Knockdown – Test/Retest

By paul

I’ll keep this review short and sweet, just like this record. The Knockdown are from New York and take influence from the likes of Dillinger Four, Kid Dynamite, The Lawrence Arms and Latterman. This record is a bit like the best bits of all of those bands. It’s fun, energetic, passionate and raw in equal doses. It’s punk rock without needing to go too melodic or too sold-skool; it manages to marry the two genres perfectly to get a record that’s catchy and a lot of fun, yet will ‘go off’ in a live setting. Every single track on this record is a winner and rather than go through each track on a detailed basis, I’d simply recommend you check the band out and enjoy.
