The Morning Light – The Sounds of Love EP

By paul

Fearless has been on a bit of a roll recently with some stellar releases, but this, sadly, isn’t one of them. A dreary, passionless EP soaked in sugary-sweet production that makes this way too slick, The Morning Light just completely washed over me. This six track EP isn’t delicate enough to be as good as Copeland and it’s not catchy enough to make the same impact as Jack’s Mannequin. And while ‘A Safe Bet’ has a really good go at being the EP’s radio friendly unit shifter, it doesn’t save this record from being, well, a bit crap really. Fearless were heading towards label of the year territory but this is certainly setting them back a bit in my book.
