Wall Street Riots – Playground Politics EP

By paul

I have absolutely no shame in saying that I have fallen in love with London’s Wall Street Riots. You only need one listen of ‘Playground Politicsā€ to understand why – they write punchy, dancetastic songs with melodic hooks that grab you by the waist, grind you until you’re more than just a little aroused and don’t let go until the party’s over.

Think Hot Hot Heat, but less Canadian. Think OKGO, but less irritating. Think The Vines, but less…shite. Lead Single ‘Dr. King’ is all bouncy guitars and funky drum beats, while ‘Lords Of Dogtown’ owes more than just a passing glance to Head Automatica, which is completely fine by me. All four tracks here are well-crafted pop-rock ditties, with a snarling punk-rock sensibility that rears its head in every lyric vocalist Charlie Cosser spits through your stereo. I cannot recommend giving Wall Street Riots a listen enough. They have a sound that crosses genres and ooze mass appeal, it’s surely only a matter of time before the masses take notice.
