Picture this – a large bedroom decorated with awesome wallpaper and two large mirrors at each end, with a fireplace sugly situated behind the drummer. Yeah, that’s The Cardigan Arms – the most snug punk rock venue ever. Then cram Friday 01 August 2003 Howards Alias – Leeds Packhorse The Bassment is a deceptive venue, from the outside it looks like a dingy backstreet club but from the inside it’s actually quite a spacious little place, fitting around 350 punters into a snug gig-going area. The stage is tiny and only viewable for maybe a third of Saturday 26 July 2003 Phinius Gage – Leeds Packhorse The George is a pretty weird venue, officially it fits 90 people in but I’d say it’s probably more like 40 – and at a push at that. Still, full credit to everyone involved for putting a good show on at pretty short notice. Leeds’ own EIGHTY SIX are Monday 21 April 2003 Milk2Sugars – Leeds Packhorse It seems quite strange that an American ska/reggae band on Drive Thru Records can only attract 68 people when a motley crue of Wakefield skanksters can rattle up a similar number in a room above a pub… but that’s the beauty of punk rock I suppose.
